How I get my hair red...WITHOUT BLEACH

So I have been dying my hair since I was about 11 on and off. I go through phases of liking and completely disliking my natural hair. I have had my hair blonde, black, and red before. I have also have my hair pink, purple, blue, green, and turquoise. I am constantly trying to see what I can get away with. As I have gotten older, I have started to think that I am too old for certain colors.

I have found a color I am loving and have been dying my hair a bright artificial looking pink/red for the last couple of months. I don't like using bleach if I can get away with it. I feel that it just kills my hair and turns it into straw. I don't like the idea of my hair looking cute, but not being able to brush it. So I have been using a hair dye that I buy from Sally's Beauty Supply, which is made for dark hair. It does the job without the extra step and harmfulness to my hair. I love the results and will continue to dye it this color for quite some time. Here I have included the items I use when I dye my hair and a video I posted on YouTube on how I dye it and the final results.

-Salon Care Professional 30 Volume Clear Developer (2.4oz) here
-Loreal HiColor HiLights for Dark Hair Only in Magenta (whole tube) here
-Indian Hemp oil or Vaseline to protect skin from dye
-Gloves
-Brush
-Clips
-Measuring Cup specifically for hair

Sephora Favorites Glitz and Glam- Stila BB Cream

As a cheek highlight this would work great but it is just too Dewey for an oily skinned person to wear all over.
I put it on and set it with a mattifying powder, 3 hours later I was a greaseball, it left me so shiny and sticky.
As a highlight just on my cheekbones I liked it but not as an overall BB Cream.

Overall I'd give it a C

Sephora Glitz and Glam- Urban Decay Moondust Shadow in Space Cowboy

When theses shadows first released I was so excited, I wanted them all but I held off. When I saw this eyeshadow in this kit I was excited because it was a great way to try out a few great products including this eyeshadow I really wanted.
Unfortunately this shadow did not meet expectations. It honestly just makes my lids look greasy if I wear it alone because it comes off as straight glitter.
Overall I'd say its a C because it can be used as a top coat over a non shimmery shadow.

Today's TSV in QVC

Do not forget to tune into QVC today November 18, 2013 and place your order for this great set. It's $49.98 and you get a ton of product.

Tarte Bow n' Go Eyeshadow palette

This is the last and largest box in the Tarte Bow n' Go set and it contains a great eyeshadow palette with 16 full size shadows.

The palette contains 7 matte eyeshadows and 9 shimmer eyeshadows . The colors are great and you get a little of everything. The shadows themselves are smooth and blend easily.

Here are some swatches, no primer was used. Over primer the colors are more intense.

Tickled Pink, Playful Plum, Radiant Rosewood, Sage Advice

Beaming Bronze, Grateful Grey, Alluribg Almond, Hot Cocoa

Ideal Ivory, Roasted Chestnut, Buttercream Frosting, Pumped Up Purple

Marvelous Mocha, Truly Taupe, Peachy Keen, Blissful Brown

Tarte Bow n' Go SmolderEYES

This is the second box in the Bow n' Go set that QVC is offering as a TSV on November 18, 2013.

The Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara is my favorite mascara. It gives me great length and a fair amount of volume.

The SmolderEYES liners are great. They are very long wearing, and can be smudged for a few seconds after application.

Matte Brown and Fig

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Cremes

These are the 4 Lipsurgence's that are included in the Tarte Bow N' Go TSV on November 18, 2013.

The Lip Cremes are glossy yet not overly glossy, they have a more satin finish. The color lasts a good 3 hours on me, which for me is good considering I talk a lot and rub my lips together.

The great thing about this set is that you get a little if everything. You get a nude, a red, and 2 pinks.

Precious, Promise, Thoughtful, Wonder

The Balm now at Kohls

So I decided to pay a visit to Kohls today to pick up some Christmas gifts. I made it two feet into the store when out of the corner of my eye I spot something so majestic I had never seen it in person before. What may this majestic thing be you ask, well it was a The Balm display. There were blushes, eye shadows, and brushes galore. I had a great time searching and walked out with a 3 blush set which I'll swatch in a future post.
In the meantime call your local Kohls to see if they carry The Balm and if not they always have it on their website. :)

Tartes Bow and Go QVC TSV

Hey everyone,

I am a Tarte addict, and even more so a Tarte QVC TSV addict, and when I saw this kit I knew it was no exception.

This kit is amazing, it's a great one to pick up and split among friends or reward yourself with an early holiday gift.
The kit is $49.98 and is available for auto delivery with a second kit releasing in April.

The kit itself is designed to be three separate gift boxes which can all be tied together with an enclosed gold ribbon.

The first box is a larger purple box which contains the eyeshadow palette with 16 full size shadows. The palette contains 7 mattes and 9 shimmers with a good mix of colors. This box also contains the gold ribbon.

The middle box is greens and contains 2 full size Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascaras. That is my favorite mascara and 2 of them would run you about $40 at most retailers. This box also contains 2 of the SmolderEYES Eyeliners in Brown and Fig.

And the final box is a crimson one which contains 4 Full Size Lipsurgence Lip Cremes (a new formulation) in Precious, Promise, Thoughtful, Wonder. They are gorgeous.

Stay tuned for a separate post with swatches.

This Tarte kit will be the TSV on QVC on November 18, 2013 and will retail for $49.98.

Colgate Slim Soft Toothbrush

I have super sensitive gums and often find myself compromising the super deep clean I want just because I don't want to irritate my gums. When I received this toothbrush in my Colgate Slimsoft VoxBox from Influenster I was excited to use a toothbrush that was soft yet promised such a deep clean.
After trying it I can say that it is a great toothbrush. It's bristles are soft yet firm enough that they fit between teeth to clean. The toothbrush itself is light and very easy to hold. I did not feel any irritation after using it which for me is a major plus. As a couponer I have a ton of toothbrushes in my stash but I am definitely going to be donating them and purchasing Colgate Slimsoft toothbrushes for my family.
If you find yourself out shopping for a new toothbrush, take the chance and pick up a SlimSoft.

Ponds Luminous Finish BB+ Cream

All week I have been struggling to want to wear foundation, the weather is getting colder and my skin is feeling very dry. My solution for my laziness has been Ponds Luminous Finish BB+ Cream in Medium. It's a great alternative to wearing foundation.

I have really red cheeks and large pores and this bb cream covers my faults very well. It does not accentuate my pores, which was a huge concern for me because of the bb creams luminous finish. It takes away the redness in my cheeks and makes me look fresh and ready for the day.

If you are having a day or week like me, where wearing makeup seems like a chore I recommend you check this out.

Pros:
- Great Color Match
- Great coverage
- Leaves skin feeling great
- Great texture
- Luminous without looking greasy
- Buildable coverage
- Wears really well, 6-8 hours

Cons:
- In order to get a medium to full coverage you need to use quite a bit
- Have to wear a primer
- If oily, have to set with powder

- Yess :)
